Artistic Exploration

Hey, I’m Kenna!

I never imagined I’d become an artist, but painting found me when I needed it most. I started my career aspirations in science with an BSc (Hons) in Biology, knowing only that I couldn’t spend my life doing the same exact tasks every day. I found painting when faced with the isolation of COVID, as a way to pass time and be creative. I stepped away for a while when life got busy and returned to normal, but returned to it as therapy a couple years later when I needed to feel inspired again. Over time, it completely took over my world… and now, it feels like exactly where I was meant to be.

My work is inspired by surrealism, humans, and emotion. Under the name Fever Dream Girl, I create pieces that reflect my dreams, or use colour to create a sense of surrealism even in my more realistic pieces. My background in biology continues to influence my work, especially through anatomical forms and structure, when working with portraits or skeletal pieces.

I want my work to draw people in without needing an explanation. I hope viewers feel a natural pull toward the pieces before they fully understand why. Curiosity is at the heart of it, something that invites a second look and slowly reveals more over time. Whether it brings colour, emotion, or expression into a space, my goal is for each piece to spark creativity and brighten the home of the people who buy my work. Thank you for being here, for exploring this space, and for sharing the Fever Dream (Girl).

Art isn’t just something to purchase...it’s something to experience, to linger with, and to inspire reflection, whether internally or about the world around us.
